Every professional at our firm participates in continuing education programs exceeding the requirements of our industry regulations. CPAs are members of the American Institute and Delaware Society of CPAS, and staff are also affiliated with industry-specific trade groups so they stay abreast of industry trends and can anticipate future client needs. We encourage and support all staff members' engagement in the community and participation in non-profit organizations.
Our current Managing Partner, Douglas S. Kook, CPA, CVA, has been with Bumpers & Company since 1999. Following his graduation from the University of Delaware with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting, he obtained his CPA, and later his CVA. Doug is currently a member of the AICPA, DSCPA and NACVA.
As a professional, the primary motivation for Doug is the success of his clients. He got into the Public Accounting field in order to help people achieve their goals, and he loves nothing more than being able to make an impact on a client’s bottom line and overall financial situation. Doug is a tax and business valuation expert, and has extensive experience in the small business and medical practice accounting and consulting fields. His focus on quality, accuracy, compliance and client service, paired with his honesty, integrity and drive to find solutions to even the most challenging problems, make him an ideal leader for the firm and a trusted advisor for our clients.
Originally from Ohio, Doug’s family relocated to Delaware when he was seven. Doug currently resides in Wilmington, where he is heavily involved in a variety of organizations. He serves as the President of the Delaware State Chapter of the NACVA , Treasurer of the Wilmington West Rotary Club, Wilmington West Rotary Foundation and the Wilmington Delaware Area Rotary Clubs Community Fund (Can Do Playground). Doug also partners with Widener University as an Accounting and Finance Curriculum Board Member and the Phillies Strike Out for Hunger event as a District Representative.
A true sports enthusiast, Doug has both played on and managed teams in adult baseball leagues, and has participated in Bike to the Bay, the Philadelphia Rock N Roll Half Marathon and the New Castle County Flag Football League. He is looking forward to sharing his love of Nolan Ryan and baseball with his sons as little league coach sometime in the future.
Chadwick J. Milton, CPA, CVA, MBA joined Bumpers & Company in January 2007. He graduated with highest honors from Goldey-Beacom College with Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance. He obtained his CPA in November 2009 and his Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) certification in January 2012. Due to his incredible hard work and dedication, Chad became a Partner of the firm in 2014.
Chad is currently licensed with both the Maryland and Delaware Boards of Accountancy. He is also a member of the AICPA, DSPA, and the NACVA.
Chad works with a wide variety of clients, providing tax, accounting, auditing, and business valuation services.
Chad, born in Ancon, Panama, grew up in a military family and has lived in three different countries and four different states. He currently resides in New Castle County, having moved with his wife and two children from North East, Maryland, where he is also a member of the Rotary Club of North East and has served terms as both President and Treasurer for the Club.

Our Bookkeeping & QuickBooks Professionals
Ann Dean, originally from Omaha, Nebraska, joined Bumpers & Company in December 2015 after earning her bookkeeper’s certification at Delaware Technical Community College. Ann brought with her over 15 years of bookkeeping experience.
Ann is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and is a Certified QuickBooks ProAvisor with Intuit. In addition to assisting our clients with bookkeeping needs and advice, Ann also provides QuickBooks training and troubleshooting - customized to meet the need of each entity. Ann also has a long standing dedication to the community in the area fostering youth.
Having dedicated over 12 years to being a foster parent, she has cared for countless children and served as a mentor to biological parents in recovery. In 2006, Ann was awarded the Nova Therapeutic Foster Parent of the Year award in the State of Nebraska.
Previously supporting Bumpers & Company as our Administrative Assistant, Crystal Jewell now serves the firm and our clients as a Bookkeeper. After many tax seasons of outstanding support, Crystal decided to expand her horizons and study Bookkeeping. She balanced the two roles for some time and has now transitioned to a full-time Bookkeeping position. Recently, she became certified on both QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
Crystal has been with Bumpers & Company for over 18 years and has developed wonderful relationships with staff and clients alike. Crystal is always ready for a challenge and has a unique understanding of public accounting and the businesses we serve. In her free time, Crystal enjoys family time, reading and Netflix.
Cathy Morgan, Senior Bookkeeper, has been a well-respected, self-employed Bookkeeper in the Wilmington, DE area for twenty years.
Prior to starting her own practice, Cathy worked for many years as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper at a local CPA firm. Cathy is an expert at utilizing QuickBooks to provide high quality bookkeeping services, set-up new companies and budgets, and provide payroll, A/P, A/R and bank account reconciliation services.
A member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, Cathy has been involved with the Girls Scouts for over 25 years, volunteers with Stockings for Soldiers and often assists the elderly in nursing homes with their finances. She also loves spending precious time with her family.
Human Resources, Marketing & Administration
A graduate of Bucknell University, with a BS in Business Administration, Laura Linderman, joined the firm in 2015. Her background includes Human Resources, Marketing and Communications roles with Fortune 500 Companies, small businesses and non-profit organizations.
Laura provides our firm and clients with guidance and support in a variety of areas and functions and truly enjoys the many different hats she gets to wear. Laura works closely with the Partners to address day to day business of the firm, as well as develop long-term strategy.
As a resident of Southern Chester County, Laura is active in her community. Currently a Board Member of the Kennett Education Foundation, Laura previously served on the Board of the New Garden Elementary PTO and New Garden Township Planning Commission, and worked and volunteered for the Kennett Area YMCA. She recently ran her first half marathon and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Reception & Administrative Support
Our Administrative Assistant, Polly DeCrease, takes great pride in providing support to our staff and service to our clients, and enjoys the friendly atmosphere at the firm. With an Associates Degree from Wesley College and previous support roles in small businesses, law and CPA firms, Polly brings knowledge, experience and warmth to our reception area.
Polly and our Administrative Support Specialist, Karen Sayers, keep our firm running efficiently and effectively by providing Partners and Staff members with valuable assistance. Our support staff is vital to the success of our firm - they help keep us organized and productive, and help us a maintain personal focus on every client.
In her free time, Polly pursues a variety of hobbies, including camping, sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She has previously served as the Secretary for the Delaware Engineering Society and is active in Wreaths Across America, serving as a wreath laying and clean-up volunteer at Arlington Cemetery.
